Every one wants to know

There have many books written  about life's purpose.  People want to know what the purpose for there life is. The last documented estimate of the number of copies sold of The Purpose Driven Life was calculated five years ago at 30 million copies.                                                 With 30 Million copies of that one book sold tells me, people are search for information to tell them there purpose. Don't get me wrong. The Purpose Driven Life is one of the best books I have ever read. I highly recommend it.                          The point is we often look for purpose in ourselves and for ourselves. The old what's in for me attitude.  I know for years  I put way to much of my  selfworth in what I did. Like what I did made me who I was as a person. I would compare my self to others. I felt like if they where better than me at something or had a higher paying job than me, my life had no purpose.                                                             There is nothing further from the truth.       God gave you life and a purpose.  He made you who you are. So many time I think we feel, if we are not seen in what we are doing in life, that what we are doing, does not count for much. Being someone well known or worth millions does not mean, that a life of purpose has been found. Do you have the confidence and faith? That God has your purpose all worked out? If you are a Christian, God has already started a work in you for his purpose for your life.

“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6
Live on purpose! Do something today for someone else. Don't do it for personal gain. Put that shopping cart in the cart rack in the parking lot. That will bless the person who has to gather those carts up. Hold a door open for a stranger. Pay for someone's meal and keep it a secret. Call someone you have not talked to in a while and say hello or better yet how tell them how much you love them. After some of these kind acts. Ask yourself how it made you feel. I bet it will make you feel like you have purpose.    You see when you get your mind off of what about me. Life seems to have more purpose.  By adding value to others gives them purpose. Every feel like giving up? We all do at times. We have times in life, that we just get burned out. We give something we are working so hard for in life 100% of our effort. Many times we are working on changing our circumstances, and change does not seem to be happening. If we are not careful our feelings will overtake us and we give into those feels , of what's the use nothing is going to change. Feels are just that feels. Just because you feel a certain way that does not mean that's the way things really are.                         

    How many times have you given up based on how you felt, when the results of what you where work for where just around the corner. Anybody can give up, that's easy. Set your goals and dig in and make it happen. Take a short break from time to time, if needed. What ever you do don't give up. Where do you want to be 10 years from now? If you give up you will be where you are right now, or possibly further away from where you would like to be. If you want to get out of debt, own it. If you want to lose weight, own it. If you want your relationship's to be better, own it. Want God first in your life, own it. 

     Jesus said: John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
So don't let those feelings, of wanting to give up steal your life. Ask God for help with your life. He loves you and desires the best for you. We have to do our part for sure. The thing is will power, will only carry you so far. God gives you that inter strength, so you never have to give up. Live with a purpose. Jefferey Maddox
